JUST A NOTE
Another month closer to 2023 and the hits just keep coming. Next month on the 8th, it’s Election Day. Vote your conscience but please, vote. It is not only our right but our duty, just like questioning those that represent us at every level. Republican, Democrat or Independent, we are ALL Americans!
Also next month the 11th is Veterans’ Day. Personally, as a veteran, I want to thank all who served. So, thank you, Ladies and Gentlemen, God bless you, God Bless Texas and God Bless the United States of America.
If you’re wondering who writes this stuff…..I do.
One final plea/reminder: Thanksgiving comes BEFORE Christmas. Please decorate accordingly.

How to pay a balance to the irs
Life's just full of little choices
d a b d a
“I owe the IRS, now what?”
First, look at the balance you owe. If it’s within your current means, pay it. If not, here are some options available to you.
Pay a portion and let the rest ride. The IRS has an Installment Plan that will be drawn from your bank every month with an agreed upon amount. But, there are interest and penalties that will apply to the unpaid balance until it’s paid in full. The Failure to Pay Penalty is 5% of the balance per month up to 25%. Interest applies every month at their current rate every month.
The other ways are called "Third Party Solutions". They include things like credit cards, signature loan or refinancing your mortgage (both lower interest than a card). With a card, your annual interest rate can be as high as 24%. At that rate you’ll be charged 2% each month until paid. One option that most banks including Chase and American Express have now is a payment plan that runs for 12, 18 or 24 months with various provisions. Check your card issuer to see what’s available. The other options (signature loan from a credit union or bank or your mortgage are usually much lower rates and your payments can be stretch over longer periods.
Here's the downside of not paying in full now. No matter how you pay it, if you owe again next year, you’ll be in an even bigger mess. What I recommend is that you use a loan or credit card to pay the debt while making bigger estimated payments or adjust your Income Tax withholdings to cover next year.

“Sow a thought; reap and act. Sow an act; reap a habit. Sow a habit; reap a character. Sow a character; reap a destiny.” Chuck SwindollIn modern terms, if you think about something long enough, you make a choice to do something. If you continue to make that choice, it becomes a habit. If you continue the habit, it becomes second nature and is part of your character. If you allow that to be second nature long enough, it is how you are known and how you will be remembered.
It all starts with a choice. To want to replace a habit, you have to form a different habit in its place.
So, my question for all of us is this: What are you doing you shouldn’t or what are you not doing that you should? How do you want to be known and remembered?
That is an easy way to remember the five stages of grief. They happen in this order:
DenialAngerBargainingDepressionAcceptance
When you grieve a person, a pet or even a relationship, if they meant something to you when they stopped being part of your life, you go through those five stages. It happens to all of us at one time or another and one of the few areas we face where there are no shortcuts. Some of us will even get stuck in one of those steps. When that happens, please get help. Call a friend, your pastor, a relative but find someone who can help you.
